Size

The Alaskan Klee Kai (AKK) comes in three sizes. The Toy variety stands up to 13-inches and usually weighs 8 to 10 lbs. The Miniature variety is 13 to 15 inches and usually weighs 10 - 15 lbs. The Standard variety is 15 to 17 inches and usually weighs 15 to 20 lbs.

Color

AKKs come in a three color combinations. Different shades are seen within these colors. Most common are Black and White or Grey and White. The third color combination is Red and White, but there have only been a small number of Red & White dogs that have shown up at this point in time.

Eye color may be either Brown or Blue, or a combination of the two. A dog with one of each is called Bi-Eyed, and an eye that is part blue and part brown is called a Parti-Eye.

Shedding

AKKs do shed. They are a double coated breed with a soft undercoat and a more coarse top coat. They lose a small amount on a daily basis, and "blow" their undercoats up to twice a year depending on the climate.
